The Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts, The Victorian Chocolate Shoppe and Community Bank and Trust will present the movie “Chocolat,” starring Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp, as a special Valentine’s weekend feature at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13.

Victorian Chocolate Shoppe will have chocolate treats in the Weill Center lobby and offer the chance to win a Valentine’s gift basket of chocolates.

“Chocolat” is the story of Vianne Rocher, played by Binoche, and her young daughter, who move to a conservative town in rural France where they open a small chocolate shop, La Chololaterie Maya, across the street from the church. There they experience hostility and resistance from the townspeople until Vianne works her magic.

Her chocolate quickly begins to change the lives of the townspeople who are soon won over by her exuberance and her delicious chocolates —that is, except for the mayor, who sees Vianne as an immoral provocateur and is determined to shut her business down.

When a group of river drifters lead by Roux, played by Depp, visit the town, Vianne teaches the townspeople something about acceptance and finds love for herself along the way.

Tickets for “Chocolat” are $5; $4 for Community Bank and Trust Plus Members. They are available at the Weill Center ticket office or by phone at (920) 208-3243.
